PBS Broadcasts Begin This Week

The US television broadcasts of BETWEEN THE FOLDS will begin this Tuesday, December 8 at 10pm, on PBS's Emmy Award®-winning series Independent Lens, hosted this season by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

As always, check your local listings — many local broadcasts will also take place after the 8th, and throughout the month of December.

PBS's Interactive BETWEEN THE FOLDS Website Launched

Visit PBS's newly-launched interactive website for BETWEEN THE FOLDS, where you can check local broadcast listings, as well as learn more about the featured artists and scientists in the film, read about the film's production, and try a challenging origami matching game!

At this website, you can also join the online discussion about the film, download origami puzzles and diagrams by the some of the film's artists, and vote for BETWEEN THE FOLDS in the Independent Lens Audience Award.

Community Cinema National Tour Wrap-Up

BETWEEN THE FOLDS toured the US throughout the month of November in cities nationwide with Community Cinema, a free, national film series that brings Independent Lens films to audiences in virtually every part of the country. Most screenings were followed by Q&A, panel discussions and audience folding.

ITVS documented several of the events on their website — including Chicago, Seattle, New Orleans, St Louis, Los Angeles and others — complete with terrific photos, video interviews, and blog entries.

The BETWEEN THE FOLDS Community Cinema tour was co-sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, OrigamiUSA, Makezine and Craftzine. This month's Community Cinema selection is Young@Heart, a remarkable documentary about a chorus in Massachussetts who's average age is 81 performing songs by Coldplay, Sonic Youth and other contemporary music.

DVD Subtitled in German and Italian

We're thrilled that BETWEEN THE FOLDS is now available on DVD with Italian or German subtitles at the film's online store.

Universally formatted in NTSC and PAL, the DVD includes 30+ minutes of Additional Features (in English), including the educational short film “Origametria” and in-depth papermaking footage, and is available for home and educational use.

Soundtrack on iTunes, eMusic & Amazon

Gil Talmi's highly-acclaimed original score for BETWEEN THE FOLDS, featuring chamber music recorded by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, is now available for download on iTunes, eMusic and Amazon.com.
